Shipping:
Shipping fees are calculated by our shopping cart for US customers. Shipping costs may be higher then stated for international destinations, we will contact you for approval of any discrepency in shipping costs. If you would like an exact international shipping quote before you order, please contact us using this form.
Some shipments might be subject to dimensional weight calculations, this is where the carrier calculates the billing weight of the package using its size. This occasionally applies to some air and international shipments. If your shipment is subject to a higher shipping charge, we will contact you for approval. While there might be an occasional error in shipping quotes, our shippings fees approach 100% accuracy. You will never be charged a higher shipping rate unless we receive approval from you.
Shipping times:
We strive to ship your order as soon as possible. Orders are usually shipped within 24 hours of receipt, most within 1-2 hours if within normal business hours. Delivery times noted are estimates only, please see shippng guarantees for further information. Orders marked as shipped do not indicate immediate pickup by the shipping carrier. Our normal cutoff times for same day pickup by the shipping carrier on shipped orders are 10am Pacific for USPS and 1pm Pacific for UPS, excluding holidays and non-business days per the delivery carrier. Orders shipped after the cutoff will be picked up by the carrier on their next normal business day.
Shipping guarantees:
Guaranteed time delivery services generally include, USPS: Express Mail, UPS: Air services (example, next day air, second day air, 3 day select). In stock orders using Guaranteed time delivery services will generally ship the same day if received before our cutoff time (see shipping times) or the following day, we will contact you by email or phone if we cannot ship a guaranteed time delivery order within this time frame. Please note that despite their names, Priority and First class services by USPS do not carry a guaranteed delivery timeframe. Guarantees apply as set forth by the shipping carriers terms and conditions. We will refund shipping paid for guaranteed shipping services if they are not delivered within the period specified if shipped and picked up by the carrier before our cutoff times. Please note that incorrect or missing address information, or attempted delivery when no one was available to accept or sign for a package will invalidate the guarantee. You must contact us by phone within 3 days after receipt, but no later then 5 business days after estimated delivery time for a refund request of shipping costs paid on guaranteed shipping services. Please note that shipments passed our carriers pickup/cutoff time (see shipping times) may initially indicate a delivery time that is one day before the actual delivery time due to missing the pickup cutoff time.
Shipping requests:
We will attempt to pass any extra shipping requests you provide along to the carrier with no guarantees. Please note that requests for 'no signature', 'leave at door', etc.. may not be honored by the delivery carrier as they have the authority to release or not to release a shipment. Please understand that we cannot force any shipping carrier to follow such requests, as such no guarantee is made that extra instructions provided by you will be relayed or followed by the shipping carrier. We reserve the right to require a signature on any shipment we deem necessary. The shipping carrier may also require a signature, irrespective of our request. Refusal or inability to sign or accept a package, or pickup a package if delivery attempts have failed per the carriers terms, may be returned to us, such failed delivery returns will be treated as a returned order and is subject to our return policy. Please provide all necessary shipping address information in the shipping address fields.
Accurate address information:
It is your responsibility to provide an accurate and complete shipping address. We will not be held responsible for incorrect addresses or missing or incomplete information such as zip code, apt, suite or other information. Please provide all delivery address information in the delivery address fields, any extra address information or instructions provided by you in the comment fields and other locations are not guaranteed to be relayed or followed by the shipping carrier. Your will be held responsible for all shipping charges and any possible return shipping charges for any shipments returned to us, which is not due to our own error, for any reason including incomplete or missing address information, refusal to accept or pickup the package within the time alloted by the carrier, refusal to sign for a package, or refusal to pay any customs duties or fees.
Taxes, Sales/Customs:
Sales Tax is due for orders delivered in California. For tax exempt orders, a BOE-230 resale certificate form must be on file. For international orders, all costs associated with customs clearance, including taxes, duties and associated fees are the sole responsibility of the purchaser. Shipments returned to us due to non-payment of taxes or duties will be subject to a restocking fee in addition to return postage fees.
Warranties:
We will replace a product found to be defective within 30 days of purchase, kits excluded. All Spectrum does not offer any express warranties. However, most of our products are covered under a manufacturer warranty, any defect or warranty claims beyond 30 days will need to be handled by the manufacturer of the item if applicable. Warranty information can usually be found on the manufacturers' website or in literature provided by the manufacturer. Kit warranties are handled exclusively by the manufacturer of the kit. Please understand that we stock hundreds of kits which we do not manufacture or design and cannot provide technical support, warranty replacements, and missing/damaged part service for kits which we do not manufacture or design.
Returns:
Most items can be returned within 14 days if the product has not been opened and is in its original condition. A restocking fee of 15% will apply.
Products returned with missing or damaged items such as power adapters, probes, manuals, etc.. will incur additional charges.
Kits can only be returned if assembly has not begun, there will be a minimum 15% fee, depending on the complexity of the kit, for opened or non-sealed kits for parts verification.
Semiconductors, consumables such as fuses and batteries (unless factory sealed), wire, and items sold by lenght are non-returnable.
Shipping fees cannot be refunded. Items cannot be returned without a return material authorization ("RMA") number. Please contact us for details.
Order Cancellations
All orders are processed and sent for shipment as soon as they are placed. If you require a change or cancellation of an order, you are required to contact us by phone. While we do our best to process email cancellations or changes we cannot guaratee this method. Orders which have already been shipped or prepared for pickup cannot be canceled and must be handled as a return (see returns). Please note that items sold by lenght and cut items are non-returnable/non-refundable during preperation of your order, even if your order has not shipped, see returns for full details. Orders for warehouse pickup must be picked up within 14 days from the order date, orders not picked up after 14 days will be canceled and are treated as a return. Non-returnable items (see returns) which are not picked up cannot be refunded and will be treated as abandoned if not picked up within 30 days. We reserve the right to cancel any order for any reason including but not limited to; State Department or DOD export regulations, orders containing export controlled items or orders to embargoed countries, entities or persons.
International Orders
We reserve the right to reject any international credit card or paypal order. High value orders will require certified payment, usually in the form of a wire transfer or Western Union payment. If you have any questions or would like wire instructions for an international non-US order please contact us using this form. Certain products are covered under export laws and regulations of the United States, diversion contrary to these laws is restricted or prohibited.
Privacy
We do not share your information with others. If you have subscribed to our newsletter we may occasionally email you about new products.
Our checkout process is secured via high level encryption, and important credit card information is removed immediately after your transaction is approved.
When you visit our site we may collect information such as IP address, the web page directing you to our site and activity on our site. This information is generally used in aggregate to help us with our website design and advertising efforts (ie, to guage performance of a banner ad you may have clicked to reach our site).
Product Use
Products are not authorized for use in any critical system/assembly, including medical, aviation or any other application where failure of the product will likely result in a loss of life, personal injury or property damage. Any use in such application is at the customers sole risk. Please note that some items require specialized skills or training for proper use. All Spectrum does not provide engineering or product advice.
Product Information
Information on products, including descriptions, specifications, datasheets, certifications, suitability for any particular purchase, etc, are provided on an as-is basis. We highly recommend confirming any such information with the manufacturer or other source before using the product or acting upon such information.
Late payments on NET accounts
Late charges will be imposed on credit accounts at a rate of 1.5% per month (18% per year) after their contracted due date passes on the remaining unpaid balance, example: Net 15; Interest at 1.5% per month after 15 days. Net 30; Interest at 1.5% per month after 30 days.
Jurisdiction
You agree that all actions or proceedings arising in connection with this Agreement shall be tried and litigated exclusively in the State and Federal courts located in the City of Van Nuys, State of California. The aforementioned choice of venue is intended by the parties to be mandatory and not permissive in nature, thereby precluding the possibility of litigation between the parties with respect to or arising out of this Agreement in any jurisdiction other than that specified in this paragraph.
Waiver of Forum Non-Conveniens & Venue: Each party hereby waives any right it may have to assert the doctrine of Forum Non-Conveniens or similar doctrine or to object to Venue with respect to any proceeding brought in accordance with this paragraph, and stipulates that the State and Federal courts located in the City of Van Nuys, State of California shall have in personam jurisdiction and venue over each of them for the purpose of litigating any dispute, controversy, or proceeding arising out of or related to this Agreement.
Personal Jurisdiction & Service of Process: Each party hereby authorizes and accepts service of process sufficient for personal jurisdiction in any action against it as contemplated by this paragraph by registered or certified mail, return receipt requested, postage prepaid, to its address for the giving of notices as set forth in this Agreement.
Binding Final Judgment: Any final judgment rendered against a party in any action or proceeding shall be conclusive as to the subject of such final judgment and may be enforced in other jurisdictions in any manner provided by law.
If any of the terms and conditions is found to be invalid by a court having jurisdiction, the invalidity of such provision shall not effect the validity of any other provisions which shall remain in full force and effect. No waiver of any of these provisions shall be be deemed a waiver of any other.
