Mopower Client Software Instruction Manual

###############
# MAIN DAEMON #
###############

Main daemon program that communicates with UPS is mopower-ups.py and is run from rc.local
using a wrapper script (mopower-ups-wrapper.sh)

Common options for mopower-ups.py include

	-v	Verbose output, adds raw data output from UPS to log files, the daemon has
		this options turned on by default
	-n	Quiet mode, turns off logging output to STDOUT

Other options exists but are debug or not commonly used, check mopower-ups.py file

######################
# mopower-command.sh #
######################

You can use this script to communicate with the main UPS daemon. Without it you normally
would kill the running mopower-ups.py and mopower-ups-wrapper.sh wrapper script and use a
terminal program to communicate with the UPS.

Usage is very simple.. run the scipt with commands to pass to the UPS as arguments.
Examples include:

	$ ./mopower-command.sh show all

will display all common variables on the UPS

	$ ./mopower-command.sh MORSE=HELLO

will blink the status LED with in Morse Code (on firmware v0.93 and above)

###########
# Logging #
###########

Logs are stored in two places:
	- 1 second logging in the /run/shm/mopower/mopower-upslog.detail file
	  this is a tmpfs memory mount, a symbolic link is also created in /var/log
	  pointing to this file
	- Once per minute logging in the /var/log/mopower-upslog file

Both files are rotated using logrotate with the following config file
/etc/logrotate.d/mopower-logrotate
Note that the install script sets logrotate to run hourly
